I've been through this dark tunnel and came out the other side. I've experienced the power of life, in the bottom of the darkest pits, to light the way out.
Meet Amit May, a passionate Family Constellation Facilitator and Somatic Psychotherapist with a journey spanning from Israel to Guatemala.
Raised in Israel, my fascination with the intricate connection between the body and psyche began early in life. Seeking deeper understanding, I delved into therapy and spirituality through literature and sessions with different healing modalities. At just 14, I knew my calling lay in becoming a therapist—a passion that never wavered.
Life took a poignant turn at 23 when my beloved mother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Nursing her through her final months, I confronted profound grief. Yet, amidst the sorrow, a clear conviction emerged: this experience would make me a better therapist. It taught me to navigate profound emotions without fear, believing in the path toward healing.
A holistic therapeutic approach
My quest for personal and professional growth continued through six years of study, complemented by Vipassana meditation, yoga, and diverse workshops. Each job along the way, from event producer to nanny, equipped me with invaluable skills that now enrich my therapeutic approach.
Post-graduation, I immersed myself in a holistic psychiatric institution, working round-the-clock to support patients through their struggles. Gaining invaluable insights into the range of human experience. Collaborating with esteemed psychiatrists, psychologists, and holistic therapists, I got to expand my views and tools.
Feeling a pull to explore, I embarked on a journey that led me to the enchanting shores of Lake Atitlan in Guatemala. Despite the wrenching decision to leave behind my homeland and loved ones, I knew this was my path. Settling in the serene village of San Marcos, I felt compelled to share the gifts of Family Constellations—a calling that has since become my life's work.
Today, I facilitate weekly workshops and nurture a vibrant community around Family Constellations. Through private sessions, I witness the transformative power of this modality in countless lives. And as I guide others, I remain committed to my own journey of growth and self-discovery.
